Solvitur Ambulando

“You can sort it out by walking”

There is something magical and meditative about walking,

especially if you do it daily.

 It becomes a necessity.

I ran across the above Latin saying  in the Meditation year book :

It means “you can sort it out by walking”.

And you CAN sort it out by walking.

Just walk it off.

You’ll be amazed that when you allow yourself to truly experience the rhythmic and repetitive act of walking

it will steady your mind, and

you can sort it all out…

so Solvitur Ambulando…

Cartwheels of Joy

Release the Joy Inside

It is a really great feeling to WANT to do a cartwheel.

When joy bubbles up inside of you.. (and it will once you start letting go to let come)… you’ll feel like a kid again and want to do a cartwheel.

Now, depending on how old you are, how much you weigh,  and what type of health insurance you have (or don’t have)  will determine if you will “actually” decide to do a cartwheel.

But if you don’t or can’t do a cartwheel you can remember how you felt when you did or could do a cartwheel when you were younger.

You can smile and know that you’ve re-discovered that joy inside of yourself…that expressed itself by doing physical cartwheels.

(To those of you who are still in your youth: DO LOTS OF CARTWHEELS and enjoy them!

May your mind whirl joyful cartwheels of creativity.

May your heart sing sweet lullabies of timelessness.

May your essence be the nectar of the open blossom of your joy.

May your spirit soar throughout the vast cathedral of your being.

Just Quit Blowing Money

Are You Blowing Money?

  • Is blowing money a problem for you?
  • If you have money do you feel you need to spend it?
  • Do you continue to shop and shop and shop and shop?
  • How many clothes, shoes, knick knacks, electronics, and grown-folks toys do you really need?
  • If you shop just for something to do, then you are in the danger zone.  That means that your credit cards are (about) at the limit, that your closets are overflowing, your garage needs cleaning, and you can’t dust all the stuff you own quick enough.
  • Do you have more things than you’ll ever need?
  • Do you have several sizes of clothes (small, medium, and large)?
  • Do you buy the latest “must have” things that you see advertised?
  • Do you shop for stress relief?
  • Are you spending money that could be better spent, saved, or even invested?
  • Before you buy anything else, ask yourself what it will be worth at your next yard sale or if you will need to advertise it online FOR FREE just to get rid of it.

Do You Need To JUST QUIT Blowing Money?

Just Quit Living on "E"

Living on Empty

Running on Empty

When you are accustomed to living on empty in your relationships, in your personal life, in your work life, financially, and in your head —  it’s hard to really come to terms when abundance starts to happen.

What abundance may look like  (it’s different for each of us) – you meet someone who is perfect for you, you get the job offer you’ve always wanted, and money starts to come from unexpected places.

 Then what happens?

You start to question it.

Is this person the right person?  Is this the right job?  Will I blow investing this money?   Will I screw this up?  Will this all turn to dust?  When is the rug going to be pulled from under me?  This can’t be happening to me? On and on goes your mind…the mind that’s use to Running on Empty.

You’ve  HOPED things were going to change.

You’ve  WANTED things to change.

Then things start changing and you wonder if you can trust it.

You’ve been Living on Empty for so long  (some people for all of their lives) this is what you think is normal.

Get Ready for a “New” Normal

When you stop being afraid of letting go of what is, who and what may NOT be for you – things that keep you off-balance –  then the UNIVERSE starts to work FOR YOU.  Things that ARE for you start coming to you — EFFORTLESSLY!

It is hard to accept this, if you’re not use to it.

It’s NEW.

It doesn’t seem Normal.

All this time you’ve been struggling trying to make this happen, or that happen, then you decide to just stop struggling.  Once you realize that life is not a struggle, the struggle is over , then everything starts to fall into place.

First – You Have To Let Go In Order For Abundance To Come

All of this alignment with abundance only happens when you are okay with letting go of control, letting go of people, letting go of things, of hoping, wishing and praying for what YOU think you want and who YOU think you want.

If it’s a struggle… if it ain’t working out…then it ain’t for you.  Let it go.  Just let it go.  Stop trying to make it work out.  Even though, technically,  things that CAN’T be sustained WILL end, you don’t have to wait for it to die a natural death…that could take YEARS! If it is a “real” struggle (that’s a clue for things to let go of), if it feels like putting a square block in a hole meant for a circle, then you need to start the process of letting it go once you realize that.

Second- Expect Your Mind to Freak You Out

When you let go, expect your mind to go into free fall and freak you out with FEAR about letting go of what or who you have in your life.  You’ll start thinking a bunch of negative thoughts about change, lost, holding on, keeping, at least you have this or that, don’t rock the boat, ect.

You have to let go first in order for things to start to change and for things to get in alignment in YOUR life.

You’ll find that somehow you’ve made it through something that seems like a tunnel.  It’s dark, It’s dank, It’s scary, It’s the unknown, It’s the abyss, and It seems like it will never end.  Then all of a sudden you wake up and you’re on the other side.  You’re through the tunnel.  Things have changed.  Things have worked out.  It’s AMAZING.  But in order to get through that tunnel you have to allow your mind to freak you out.  It will try to scare you into NOT letting go, but just allow it and go through that tunnel.

Third- Accept and Allow Abundance in Your Life

Expect things to improve and when they start to improve, ALLOW them to improve.

Don’t question it.  Don’t wonder if you deserve it.  You do. Why not you? Why can’t you be in a fantastic relationship?  (Someone who compliments you in every way – spiritually, emotionally, socially, financially and sexually). Why can’t your career  and job be one that you enjoy doing? (Something that uses your key talents and skills and that pays well.) Why can’t your business idea work out, be profitable and help the world out? (Even if  all the last 100 ideas you have had didn’t work out over the years — why not this one?). Why can’t you have money in the bank, savings, investments, nice rental property and be able to go and do what you want and need to do that requires money?

All of these abundance-minded things are there for you. (Abundance will mean different things to different people –  maybe abundance to you means living in cave reading books all day…whatever abundance means for you and to you then it’s there for you, but you have to expect it, accept it and allow it into your life)

NOW – Be Grateful

When your tank starts going from Empty to 1/3 of a tank to 1/2 of a  tank, to 3/4 of a tank to a FULL TANK — Just Be Grateful.  Know that you deserve it and that you are FINALLY in the flow of “your life”.

You are FINALLY living without Fear.

You are FINALLY living a FULL and FREE Life.

Just Quit Procrastinating & Talking About It

Perhaps you have a lot of great ideas.

Perhaps the idea that you have is the thing that is given for you to do.

If you don’t do it, it will not be brought into the world.

It certainly won’t be brought in to the world the way you would do it.

Someone else could already be doing it, but not like you would.

This is all about a mentality.  The mentality is that you can do this, but you must start.

Will you succeed?  Not if you don’t start.

Will you succeed after you start?

You will not succeed if you don’t see it to fruition and give it your all.

You will only know if you will succeed if you give it a go.

Just start.

It is not impossible to start…

First you have to Just Quit (not starting!)

Just do something today —

even if it is just writing down your idea (again).

The Blue Light Within

If you are someone who has been meditating for a while then you may have seen the blue light.

Sometimes when you are meditating a blue light appears. Sometimes it comes in immediately, other times it fades in. It comes in the space right between your eyebrows.

It is the size of a pea.

It can get larger when you focus on it, BUT you can’t focus on it too hard (it’s a paradox of sorts).  If you focus too hard it will slowly close (like an eye shutting, or a door closing). Then, you can not make it come back right away.  Not even if you try really hard.  It usually doesn’t appear by sheer will.  It’s like the wind.  It’s there, then it’s gone.

It has occurred to me that the blue light is some sort of portal (opening)  to the light that is within. It’s a light that is within everyone and it is so beautiful.

When the blue light comes you know that it is always shining.  Most times it seems to be covered by some sort of film.  You know it’s shining really brightly although it is behind a covering.

Sunrise Sunrise over Charlotte Douglas International Airport

The sun coming up and then going behind the clouds.

That’s what that blue light is like. It’s there. It’s always there, but you can’t always see it. Our body, our thoughts, and our emotions, are like the clouds. If we can clear away all of that (the focus on the body, the thoughts, and the emotions), then we will see the light.

You can live knowing there is light within. You can let your “little light shine”. It’s there. You can call the blue light anything you want. Valentine’s Day is coming soon…so let’s just call it LOVE.

This week just live your life knowing (even if you’ve never seen it) that there is a beautiful and vibrant yet calming energy of light that lives deep inside of you.

Let go of worrying about the future.

Let go of regretting the past.

Let go of getting lost in your thoughts and emotions.

 Let Peace In.

Let The “Wonders” Of Everyday Life In.

Let Love In.

Just Quit & Be Still

“Spirituality begins where religion ends.”

~ Shri Ram Chandra~

Don’t most religions tell you to look within?

  • Do you understand your internal world?
  • Can you meditate?
  • Can you just be still?

Can you be still and quiet for 15 minutes at one time?

Try it now.

Try it tomorrow.

Just try it.

The first time you try it, it might be downright painful. Your mind will be jumping from one thing to another.  That ‘s the monkey mind.  Don’t worry, it can be stilled.  You can train your mind to be still.  And here’s what you will find…You will  find that quiet place inside of yourself where there is nothing but peace, love and oneness with everything, everyone and a higher being or universal consciousness.

BE STILL

Can you be still?

Can you find a quiet place to go?

Can you stand the thoughts that run across your mind?

Can you let those thoughts go?

Can you just watch those thoughts float by?

Can you resist the urge to move or to get up?

Can you hear that still small voice within?

Can you just be still?

Can you Just Quit acting religious and go on your spiritual journey?

Look within, and you will find the God that you seek.

Can You Just Be Still?

Just Quit Thinking You Have All The Answers - Keep Asking Questions

“Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.”
~Raymond Lindquist~

Is whatever you are doing, thinking, wondering, or questioning about spiritual matters getting you closer to knowing about a  Higher Being or Universal Consciousness ?

Do you know this Being or Consciousness?  Do you have a close connection with this Being or Consciousness?

Are you sure?

Is it a personal connection or is it something else?  Can you describe it or is it undescribable?

Isn’t it okay to wonder, ponder, question these things?  Who say’s that it’s not okay?

Isn’t it mostly those who’s livelihood depend on you NOT questioning these things?

Remember this is your life, and no matter what any one says, or how many degrees they have, or how great they sound in the pulpit, or how quilty they make you feel for questioning things —  you are going to die alone.

Why can’t or shouldn’t you ask questions, so you can seek and find the answers.

The answer is in the questioning. If you don’t ask a question you won’t get an answer – — so ask good guestions.

Gratitude and Letting Go

Gratitude Rocks

There is a correlation between being grateful and letting go.
When you are grateful you see what is good.
When you are grateful you see what is great.
When you are grateful you see the best in others.
When you are grateful you re-focus your energy.
When you are grateful you are okay with the present.
When you are grateful you honor the past and the things of the past.
When you are grateful your future looks brighter.

By being grateful you can see the “good” in the “bad”.

(Honestly there doesn’t seem to be good or bad, just gratefulness for what is.)

By being grateful you can see loss, as not loss, but as growth and change.
By being grateful change is a way of life and not something to dread.
By being grateful  you look forward to the next day.
By being grateful you forget about your problems, because problems aren’t the focus.
By being grateful things that you need to “let go” of start to fall away or go away.
Gratitude allows you to let go of things, people, circumstances, thoughts, feelings, ect. that don’t serve your greater good.
Gratitude is one of the tools for learning to let go.

What Are You Grateful For Today?

The Source is in the Circle

There is no need to go through life alone.

There is no need to feel dependency on another to make you happy.

There is no need to have to “feel” happiness to be happy.

There is a Source that you can tap into at any time

This Source is ever-present  and you are never really alone.

You are not abandoned by another because you ARE already complete within yourself.

Because of this awareness and understanding, relationships with others just brings you further understanding of this Source.  That’s the only purpose. It’s a wonderful interplay with you and the Source.

So you ask how do you tap into the Source while in a physical body and “worrying” about problems in that body?

The Source is found in the circle: the spiral, the orbital, infinity

Start by moving a part of your physical body in a circular or figure eight fashion…

your head

your neck

your shoulders

your back

your arms

your hands

your hips

your feet

whatever body part feels natural and good to you

Try it

There is something about moving your physical body in a circular motion.

You’re  now moving like the planets – they tap into this source.

BUT…don’t try to tap in it…don’t force it…don’t wonder if you’re doing something right or wrong. (Trust me…that will just make you dizzy because you’ll probably move too fast and mechanical or not according to your own flow.)

Just remember that the source is already there, you just have to know that, sense it and feel it…and…don’t worry about what The Source is…don’t get hung on that.  Call it whatever you want, whatever makes sense to you.  Don’t let “naming it” stump you from tapping into this finer energy. Who cares what you call it?  Call it God, Call it Universal Mind, Call it the Source, Call it whatever resonates with you. (As I was typing this I asked “it” what “it” wanted me to call “it” and what came to me was “The Source”…never thought to call it that before but that resonated with me)

The Source is too big to really truly comprehend intellectually

It’s the Source of Everything  – Knowledge, Information, Answers, Questions, People. Relationships..EVERYTHING…

The Source wants to do big things if you allow it to work through you…it wants to touch you and wants to shine through you and help others through you…

Even if you don’t believe —  it doesn’t mean it’s not there — right there for you, for me, for us — it’s like the glue that holds everything together.

How will you know when you’ve tapped into The Source?

You will have an understanding you won’t even understand

You’ll want to leap

You’ll want to shout

You’ll want to sing

You’ll want to cry

You know it is real — finally — you know it is real and you’ve tapped into some mystery you can not really explain

You now see people and loved ones (many who have gone on) as ministers of The  Source to help teach you…

  • Maybe they were so powerful in their own spiritual evolution and understanding of the mystery of life that their minds had to be clouded and shrouded by a disease of the mind.  Otherwise the light from the Source would have shone too brightly for others to understand. Even through the disease of the mind a wisdom and “knowingness” came shining forth to touch others who crossed their paths.
  • Maybe they needed to suffer in this life for others to be touched by their kindness and compassion.   It was a plan to teach others how be there for the lest of those, those who suffer, to teach how to see suffering, to teach how to grow, to teach how to survive even when suffering.
  • Maybe they needed to help others that could not give them anything in return.  Maybe to show others what true love does.  That love is not about what you can get, not about you being “happy”, but about giving to others and making others happy.
  • Maybe they were creative and industrious.  Maybe they had their own business.  Maybe they had 1000 ideas but because of time and circumstance not every plan came together.  Maybe it was to show others that creative energy is alive and well and to pursue dreams and passions.

The Source Lives

Those who have gone on (somewhere beyond this earthly journey) they too live.  How could they not? I mean contemplate that for a second…how could they not?  Even if they don’t live in the flesh here they live in your heart, mind and memory. So just as you can not see them physically anymore –  this Source, Spirit, God, Universal Mind, also lives….all you have to do is tap into it…when you do none of those petty “worries” that you have will matter anymore…you have everything within you that you need…you always have and you always will…

The Source Is In The Circle

Mistakes - No, Maybe They're Just Lessons

Are There Really Any Mistakes?

Can you do something that seems right, but it turns out “wrong”? How do you really know if WHAT you’re doing is WHAT you SHOULD be doing? How do you really know if what you SAID is what you SHOULD have SAID? How do you really know?

Seems Like We Are on the Hunt for Some Missing Piece

Seems like we’re always searching for something

Something  – even – when – we – feel – we – have – everything

Looking for it in other people, in places, and in things.

It’s like something we once had, but lost somewhere along the way.

It’s like we’ll know it when we find it.

So we keep searching..even when we have people,

go places, have money and things…

Seems like something is STILL missing

Still Searching…Still Seeking…Still Looking…Still Empty

Look at Other People Today

Look into their eyes

You’ll realize that you are not alone

~They are ~

Searching Too.

Seeking Too.

Feeling Empty Too.

(even if most are “acting” like they’ve found it…look closely in their eyes and you’ll see the truth…)

It’s in the frantic searching,

seeking and emptiness that we feel we made “mistakes”

We find and stay too long in relationships with the “wrong” people

We seek and get the “wrong” stuff

&

We S-T-I-L-L Feel Empty Inside

Are These Mistakes or Lessons?

If we look at everything as Lessons on the Journey of the Seeking and Looking for What’s Missing,

Then, are there really any mistakes?

If you take everything as a lesson, as growth, as getting closer to fulfilling that empty space…

how is anything that happens in your life a mistake?

Just Quit Complaining - Be Grateful

Be Grateful for Today.

Today Will Never Come Again.

Develop an attitude of gratitude and you will be given more to be grateful for.

Let Go of Looking at Your Problems.  Let Go of Complaining.

What are you are GRATEFUL for today?

Just Quit Living Small...Remember Who You Are

Do you know how big the UNIVERSE is?

Not the City you live in.  Not the State.  Not the Country. Not the World.  The UNIVERSE.

You are currently a part of the UNIVERSE.  How special is that!  Don’t forget that.  You are here for a reason.  You are.  You HAVE to be, or you wouldn’t be here.

Who AM I?
Who AM I?

Think about what it took for your parents to conceive you, for them to decide to keep you and to let you grow. Think about being born, making it through your childhood (and it’s craziness — we all went through some craziness),  BUT here you are… STILL here.

Stop looking at your current situations, circumstances and thinking that this is all there is. Stop wondering how on earth you got to where you are.  Maybe you’ve made a couple of wrong turns, just learn from them and move on.  Maybe you can’t see what the future holds for you, that’s no problem.  Once you come to the realization of  two things then things start to change:

1.  Being grateful for what is — right now — as it is.

Don’t judge, just be grateful for who you are, where you are, what you have, who is  in your life, where you came from, what your dreams are.  JUST BE GRATEFUL.  It opens up some sort of portal that transports you into your purpose for being here.

2. The you that you think you are is not WHO you are.

The thoughts that you think is not WHO you are. The emotions that you have is not WHO you are. The identities that you’ve attached to yourself is not all that you are. There is something much bigger happening behind your eyes, in your body, and in your mind.

Look in the mirror and look directly in your eyes and ask yourself:

“Who Am I?”

When you do this for the first time you will come back with all these identities that you “think” is all that you are.   Your name, your sex, your ethical background, your occupation, your profession,  your title, your parental status, on and on.  You’ve attached yourself to these identities.  Go past all of those identities and ask again…“Who Am I?”

The final answer will amaze you!

Just Quit - Set Yourself Free

Chinese Painting
Let Go – Just Let Go

“Sometimes you’ve got to let everything go – purge yourself.

If you are unhappy with anything…whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it.

Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.”

Just Quit Thinking That Because Your Dreams Haven't Come True Yet...That They Won't

Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart.

He who looks outside, dreams.  Who looks inside, awakens .

~Carl Jung

What are your dreams?

What did you dream your life would be like?

Are you where you dreamed you would be by this time in your life?

Have you given up on your dreams?

Do you still know how to dream?

Awaken

Do you still believe that your dreams will come true?

Have you let life, circumstances,

other people (fill in the blank) defer your dreams?

Have you stopped  dreaming because things haven’t gone the way you hoped that they would?

If you have stopped dreaming, it is okay.

Don’t beat yourself up.

Only you know your story.

Only you really know what you’ve gone through,

what you’ve been told about what is possible,

what you’ve experienced…only you really know.

This is your life.

This is the one life that you’ve been given to live in the body that you are in.

All that you have gone through and experienced has brought you to where you are today, and it is okay.

You are where you are,

who you are and it is o-k-a-y.

What is NOT okay is to stay where you are today.

One way or the other things will change. Everything changes.

Be apart of the changes that are coming in the world and in your life.

Use your experiences to not only dream again, but to take it to a new level and to awaken to the fact that everything that has happened to you has brought you to this place, this time, and this century to do SOMETHING.

It is up to you to figure out what that SOMETHING is.

Once you finally get on the track that you are supposed to be on, things will open up.  In order to get on that track you have to wake up.

Wake up…

The Time to Wake up is Now

Can you see the future that is before you?

Can you see that you ARE enough?

Can you see that THERE is enough?

Can you see that you need to stop looking at what or who is or has been “holding you back”

and move everyday towards your future…

the future that is available to you…

but you have to look at it with fresh eyes, new perspectives in order to see it.

It is not too late to live the life that you’ve imagined.

It’s not too late.

Tired, Tired, Tired. Are You Tired Enough to Do Something About It?

I’m tired of working for a place that doesn’t care about its’ employees.  They treat us like we are just cogs in the wheel, easily disposable and replaced.

I’m tired of standing up all night on a midnight shift.

I’m tired of inhaling smoke and dealing with mean and rude customers.

I’m tired of not doing anything with meaning and purpose.

I have a bachelor’s degree and don’t feel I should be a cashier at a casino.

This job doesn’t even pay all of my bills yet.  I travel 45 minutes away from my house to only pay half of my bills, so there is a lot of stress around not having enough money.

~Worker Living in ILLINOIS

It is okay to be tired.

Actually it’s more than okay to be tired.sick and tired

Until we get so “tired” of this and that we will stay stuck denying there is a problem.

  • We won’t change.

  • We won’t make the preparations to “Just Quit”.

  • We won’t take action and move forward.

“Tired” helps you to decide on a better way of life and take actions to move towards your reason for being.

Embrace the Suck

“Embrace the Suck” is a military term.

Occasionally I heard military stuff  while working in a law enforcement environment with guys who were or are still in the military in some capacity.  “Embrace the Suck” is a fascinating concept actually.  When they are in a war like Iraq or Afghanistan, things are going to suck  from time to time.  They have to get through it whether they like it or not.  They can’t avoid it.  They have to deal with the stuff that sucks.

One of my guru’s Joseph Campbell said the same thing (albeit a little more eloquently):

“We’re in a free fall into future. We don’t know where we’re going. Things are changing so fast. And always when you’re going through a long tunnel, anxiety comes along. But all you have to do to transform your hell into a paradise is to turn your fall into a voluntary act. It’s a very interesting shift of perspective . . . Joyfully participate in the sorrows of the world and everything changes.”

A battery does not work without a positive and a negative charge...just like life...you need both "positive" and "negative" experiences. Use the "negative" not as "bad' but as a charge to MOVE you forward.
A battery does not work without a positive AND a negative charge…just like life…you need both “positive” and “negative” experiences. Use the “negative” not as “bad’ but as a charge to MOVE you forward.

So, “embrace the suck” in your life.  Something sucks in your life.  Maybe it hasn’t reached the point of a crisis or depression, but we’ve all been there and know that when it DOES reach that point you can go into a pity-party-for-one that can be completely debilitating.  You can’t see a way out. You feel stuck.  No one can help you.  Nothing makes sense anymore. Nothing is working out for you. Life really sucks.

If you are in a tailspin – EMBRACE THE SUCK.

This perspective turns EVERYTHING on it’s head.  Just say:

Okay, this is how it is, this is what is happening in my life, in my relationships, on my job, with my finances, with my health, etc…it’s bad…actually it SUCKS…now… just embrace that.  This IS how it IS.  When you can “joyfully participate”  in “the suck” like you “joyfully participate” during the wonderful times in your life… when things are going well…when you are in love, when you get the job you think you want, when you have money in the bank, when you have friends, etc…it’s good…actually it’s GREAT…now try to embrace “The Suck” JUST LIKE THAT…it’s GREAT. How do you act? What do you do when you are “happy”  when things are “positive”?  Just START doing some of those things. For some of you it might mean to JUST GET UP OUT OF THE BED.  Nope, it’s not something easy to do, but it provides a release.  It’s like a relief valve.  It actually feels like you are cheating the “negative” things from allowing you to stay stuck in them and seeing them as “bad”, or just replaying how much things really suck over and over and over again in your head…instead of understanding and appreciating that it’s just a part of life….your life…your story…

What about your life currently “sucks”?

Identify it.  Admit it.  Take a good long look at it.

Embrace it.

This blog is about letting go and you CAN’T let go of something that you are denying and pretending is not there.  You have to fully embrace what is not working in order to make a change.

Note to Self:  There is NO WAY I could have written this post today if I had not Embraced The Suck…The Many, Many, Many Sucks that are going on right now in my life. I’m looking forward to posting about this time once I’m on the other side of yet another dark and dank tunnel of change.

Jump The Chasm

Jumping the Great Chasm

As you go the way of life you will see a great chasm.

Jump.

It is not as wide as you think.

Appreciative Inquiry - A Way To Move Forward In Personal Development

1. Discover –Find out what works. What are you doing when you are at your best?  –– Appreciate It

2. Dream – Imagine what might be or how it could be better –Envision It

3. Design – Determine what should be, the ideal, and how you are going encouragementto get there––Co-Construct It

4. Destiny – Create what will be and commit to action and results —Sustain It/Work It

Seems so simple, but like us all you’ve seen a “plan” like this before.  Tried it  and No Big Changes in Your Life.  It doesn’t matter  how many things you’ve tried in the past or how many times you’ve” failed” in the past.  Forget what the voices in your head are saying (or the people in your life)…KEEP GOING…

  • Thomas Edison‘s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He was fired from his first two jobs for being “non-productive.” As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, I didn’t  fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.
  • Henry Ford failed and went broke five times before he succeeded.
  • Michael Jordan and Bob Cousy were each cut from their high school basketball teams. Jordan once observed, I’ve failed over and over again in my life. That is why I succeed.
  •  Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” He went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland. In fact, the proposed park was rejected by the city of Anaheim on the grounds that it would only attract riffraff.
  • After his first audition, Sidney Poitier was told by the casting director, “Why don’t you stop wasting people’s time and go out and become a dishwasher or something?” It was at that moment, recalls Poitier, that he decided to devote his life to acting.
  • In 1944, the director of the Blue Book Modeling Agency, told modeling hopeful Norma Jean Baker, “You’d better learn secretarial work or else get married.” Norma Jean, of course, never quit and became Marilyn Monroe.

Who you are right now is not who you have to continue to be.  KEEP GOING.  Let Go of all those voices in your head telling you that you can’t, and it’s hopeless. It is not. Just sit back and take a look at your current situation.  Don’t be afraid of what you find.  Just suspend it out in front of you like “laundry on the line”.  If you can do that and be alright with whatever FEAR comes up, just experience the FEAR, and not being AFRAID of that experience, in time everything will be fine.

Don’t try to resist it or change things right away, just simply acknowledge whatever it is that isn’t working for you -your job, your relationships, your finances, ect – and slowing let go–don’t struggle with it — just release it.  There is something about FEAR that when you take it on it runs like a coward.  Once you learn this and that FEAR is gone the FUN begins.  BUT it doesn’t end there, because life will continue to throw up all of these FEARFUL things to make sure you’ve learned the lesson.  Over and over again in all kinds of situations and circumstances life says:  “Look Over Here…Something to Be Afraid of and Live in Fear of.”  Letting go of Fear seems to me could be a lifelong lesson to learn.

You can’t LET GO  of anything (Fear) until you acknowledge that you are HOLDING ON (to being fearful).  Sometimes all it takes is acknowledgement for fear to release the grip on its own.  It’s occurred to me that:

LETTING GO is not about something that you DO.  LETTING GO is something that you UNDO.  It’s an Undoing of a Holding On.

Just Quit is not about Giving Up it’s about LETTING GO of what is not working so you can discover what does work for you…KEEP GOING.

No one can make the discovery about “you” for you…it’s on you…KEEP GOING.

The journey of life is all about… the journey…you’re going to screw up every now and again… Things aren’t going to go your way…Money is going to be tight…JUST KEEP GOING NO MATTER HOW MISERABLE, HORRIBLE OR HOPELESS THINGS MIGHT SEEM TO YOU….tomorrow is a new day.

How Much Have You Let Go?

Do Everything With a Mind That Let’s Go.

If you let go a little, you will have a little peace.

If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace.

If you let go completely, you will know complete peace and freedom.

Your struggles with the world will have come to an end.
