I drive 120 miles a day round trip. I dread every mile.
I get quilted out of taking my lunch breaks on a near daily basis.
I feel sick with dread and stress and truly fear for my health.
The money doesn’t justify the expense of my commute and child care costs.

We Have The Freedom To Choose - Staying Misaligned Or Getting In Alignment
My values do not align with the GM or other top managers in the company.
The willingness to change our corporate culture to become a better company is not even a consideration because they need to keep selling.
Our customers think poorly of our company and nothing is done to address the root cause of those complaints. A discount is given and they stop complaining.
Anxiety is constant even on weekends when I cannot stop thinking about everything. I am already behind on next week.
They are forcing me to fire people in my department and not understanding that we are already understaffed.
~Worker Living in GEORGIA
A big part of “Just Quit” is finding alignment. We have to be in alignment with our highest selves, purposes and goals. It might take some time to find this alignment or it might happen in a flash. It just depends.
At some point we realize that we are out of alignment with where we are supposed to be, what we are supposed to be doing and contributing to the world.
We have the freedom to choose. We can choose staying misaligned or getting in alignment.

Be Honest With Yourself About Your Job
I dislike what I do. I chose my profession as the backup to the career I really wanted. I have not moved into the career that I wanted and my chosen career takes all my time.
Every day, I wake up depressed about going into my job. I even cry in the shower and the car on the way to work. I am so emotionally drained from the work week; I don’t have any energy to pursue my passions.
I shy away from friends and family because I don’t want to talk about my job, and perhaps show how depressed I am to anyone.
I believe it has started to cause health problems from all the stress.
~Worker Living in GEORGIA
We have to face facts, first to ourselves then to others.
We have to be honest with ourselves.
If we are hiding the truth about the situation even to ourselves we will remain stuck…year-after-year-after-year.
We’ll look up and one day we’ll be close to old age and we didn’t do anything in our work-life that mattered to us or that we were passionate about.
Today, be honest with yourself.
Tell yourself about how you feel about your current job.
Just be honest, even if it is painful to accept.

It's Labor Day 2019 - A Great Day For A BreakThrough
SEPTEMBER
The shell must break before the bird can fly.
~ Alfred Tennyson
I’m at a glass ceiling.
The job is boring. They have not had a raise in five years at this company.
I feel that life is passing me by.
~Worker Living in GEORGIA
We need to breakthrough.
It’s not about the glass ceilings that companies or organizations erect; but the ones that we erect in our own minds.
It starts with the broken record of negative thoughts that swirl around in our minds about our situation, about the possibilities, about our dashed dreams, about the useless degree, about the missed opportunities, about the lack of ideas, about the ideas that didn’t work….the breakthrough starts with your thoughts.
Think Differently Today.

P.S.
If you’re reading this and in the U.S. more than likely you have a day OFF of work. OFF for Labor Day. So, make a good use of this day. How do you do that? Ask yourself this one question and just wait for the answer to emerge…
If I could do ANYTHING with my LABOR (physical and mental effort to create goods and services) what would it be?
NOW…once the answer emerges (and it will, if you keep asking that question)…MOVE towards it…do something to create that good or service…JUST START and then keep going…(BTW…what is the point of all of your experiences, jobs, books you’ve read, places you’ve been, skills you’ve developed, things you know….if…you are not going to DO something with it all…that MAYBE only YOU can do? What is the point? It might take a LONG time for things to materialize, but it will NEVER happen if you don’t START. Create SOMETHING with your labor that you are proud of and that improves you and your corner of the world. )
labor:
Labor is a primary factor of production. The size of a nation’s labor force is determined by the size of its adult population, and the extent to which the adults are either working or are prepared to offer their labor for wages

7 Eleven Coffee Cup...If You Know What You Want, It's Already There
My stress level is beyond healthy and I no longer want responsibility.
~Worker Living in GEORGIA
Sometimes we’ve had enough responsibility.
We’ve had enough meetings.
We’ve had enough company problems.
We know what we want…no more responsibility for this or for that.
We want some downtime.
We want to just be responsible for ourselves and our family stuff.
P.S.
What do you want?
I’ll never ever forget an object lesson that my father taught me.
It was 1991 and I had just graduated with my undergraduate degree. I had decided not to relocate with Hoechst Celeanse and to finish the last 40 hours I needed for the degree. They had offered me a relo and most everyone was taking the package. I went looking for all of my options and one of them was to go back to school full-time for a year and finish a degree that was taking forever going part-time. It was a smart decision, but I graduated during a horrible recession and there weren’t many jobs. I was a single parent with a 6-year-old son. Yes, I had a degree now, BUT I didn’t have a job. It was a difficult difficult time.
I was broke when I walked across that stage…dead broke.
My first mentor ( I’ve had many throughout my career) had invited me to D.C. She was well-off, owned her own business and her graduation gift to me was an airline all-expense paid trip to D.C. When I left town I felt hopeless. When I got back from D.C. I was on fire. I had seen the possibilities. The world was my oyster. I had confidence. I had a great attitude about life…even though I was still without a job and broke.
My father had watched me struggle looking for a job, he’d even tried to “network” for me with the folks who came into his barbershop. When he saw me after I arrived back from D.C. he noticed the difference in my attitude. He asked me if I had gotten a job and I told him: “no, I got a better attitude”. He told me that was all I needed and to come with him.
He had a 7-11 coffee cup in his hand.
He sat the cup on the table and told me to look at the cup. I did. (My father was the kind of man that you did what he told you to do :-).
Then he said he wanted me to stare at the cup. Look at it really good. I did. THEN he said; “Now I want you to find the cup in the wall.” I was confused. He explained the instructions again, I was to look at the cup, then look up at the blank white wall and try to see the cup.
I looked at the cup, then looked at the wall and saw nothing. I did it about 5 more times and there was nothing there but a wall.
Around the 6th time I did it I could see the outline of the cup in the wall. I told my father that I thought I knew what he was talking about because I could see the cup. He said: “NO, you don’t have it yet, do it again.”
I did it again, and again, and again.
SUDDENLY I looked up at the wall and the cup was EMBEDDED in the wall. It wasn’t an outline, it wasn’t an image, it was THE CUP. I jumped up and said:” I SEE IT DADDY, I SEE IT.”
Then he said: “Okay now you’ve got it. WHATEVER YOU WANT IN LIFE IS ALREADY THERE BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IN ORDER TO FIND IT.”
Now, What do YOU want? Not what you don’t want…what DO you WANT? You have to see on the inside before you can find it on the outside.

Be Wise, Change Your Own Situation. That Will Change The World.
I can’t stand the work, my boss, or the company.
It would take up several pages for me to really go into all the details.
I’m underappreciated, underpaid, and sick of it!
