Safety First - Are There Safety Concerns Where You Work?

You are reading from the book  “Just Quit” & Live

Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?

I have concerns about my safety. I don’t like the work anymore.

I do not feel valued as a worker due to my safety concerns not being heard or acted upon.

My boss has bitched about every single worker to me which makes me wonder what she says about me behind my back.  I want a more stable and secure work environment.

~Worker Living in AUSTRALIA

Today’s Meditation:

If you are working in an unsafe environment and it is really bothering you, then write down all of the issues and research the laws that address your concerns.

NOW…think…brainstorm…can you start a business or a blog or something with this information? find a causeNot necessarily to call out your organization, but to help yourself and others who might have the same concerns where they work.

You never know if you write a business plan it might be the next thing that you are meant to do.

P.S.

We find ourselves in situations for a reason.  There are no mistakes, there are only lessons.  Don’t miss out on this lesson in your life.  What can you do with what you have learned? What you have experienced? What you are going through?  What can you do???

Taking a Day Off Work - A Mental Health Day

You are reading from the book  “Just Quit” & Live

Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?

I feel so trapped. No matter what opportunity comes along I know that I have to endure the hectic schedule of a call center. I would love to develop myself in other areas.

 I am unhappy.

I am either anxious or upset and it is taking its toll on me…this is the second mental health day this month. Sometimes it is not as busy but I am truly unhappy.

 Mental Health

Today’s Meditation:

We’ve all done it or wanted to do it…take a mental health day.  Just take a day off to re-group. Take a day off to get a break from the place.

One day here and there is okay; but we know how it goes…now it’s almost EVERY WORKDAY we wake up and we want to take a mental health day.

If you are so lucky to have days that you can take as mental health days; then use those days to improve your mental health…rhythmically breathe, walk, go out into nature, meditate, eat healthy foods, contemplate, do art, or do something creative…take your mental health day and make it yours. Try not to worry about tomorrow and the fact you’ll have to go back to work…just use that one mental health day to its fullness.

 P.S.

Even if you don’t take an entire day to work on your mental health…for a few minutes today do something that brings you joy, makes you smile, let’s you know you are alive and everything will be okay.  Just do one thing today from your list you created on Jan. 1.

Doing What We Need to Do and Letting Go

You are reading from the book  “Just Quit” & Live

Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?

I’m tired. I need a break. I have to take care of my ailing dad.

 You are alive today

Today’s Meditation:

We are sure of one thing.  We are alive.

We are in this body and we are alive.

We don’t know what happens after we are no longer alive and are no longer in this body.  Nobody really knows.

While we are alive and in this body we need to do what is important to us. We need to take care of people who are important to us. We need to make tough decisions to be true to ourselves.

Maybe today is the day we decide: “I need to…” and then we just do it.

P.S.

This past weekend at an art show a lady came up to my booth that I recognized from the last time I showed at that location and she recognized me. We exchanged greetings. I told her I recognized her and she told me she thought I looked familiar but I looked younger. Now, that will make anybody happy to hear! She then said that she had something she wanted to share with me.

She came over behind my booth and shared the below story with me:

A couple of months ago, one morning her husband could not wake her up.  She was unresponsive and unconscious and they thought she was dead. She said during that time there was NOTHING for a long period of time, then something clicked and her mind understood what was happening to her.  She said she recognized it as: “She was dying.”  That is what was happening to her. Then she said she saw all these people running and they were in some sort of uniforms.  They were running towards something.  Then this overwhelming “sense” came over her and she got the message to just “Let Go”.  That was the message: “Let Go and Let God”.  Not to worry about anything or to listen to the thinking mind, just let go of all of that. She said she came to after she had been rushed to the hospital and they worked on reviving her.  She stayed in the hospital for a week while they ran tests.  They never found out why she was unconscious.  The only thing is that now she needs a cane to walk, BUT she said she was just grateful and thankful to be alive…to see another day…but she wasn’t afraid not to be alive.  I asked her if she thought she had a life-after-death experience and she said no, she didn’t believe that is what it was.

She said she thought I’d appreciate her experience based on my artwork.  She then went back to the front of my booth and read some of my signs…Let Go, Hope,  and Accept What Is…she smiled and said God Bless You and walked away.

I don’t know if I’ll EVER see that lady again.  I don’t know if I’ll EVER show at the location again, BUT her story will always stay with me and gave me another confirmation that LETTING GO is one of the lessons to be learned while we are having this earthly experience.

Let Go to Let Come Today

Just let go of those things  and thoughts that do not serve you…even if it is just for one day…this day.

Doing Our Thing

Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?

I am no longer happy with my current job. And my part-time business, though the income is not stable, is promising.

Meditation/Reflection:

How can we not have OUR own thing?

If we don’t like the job we are on; how can we not be thinking about and pursuing OUR thing?

Why wouldn’t we be?

Hobbies and Careers

Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?

I am having an issue with my colleague; as well as; I have come to realize that I am no longer interested to pursue design as my career and that it should continue as my hobby.

Daily Meditation/Reflection:

Maybe our careers could be hobbies and our hobbies could be careers?

Hmmm…by the way… hobbies & passions…they are the same thing.

What Do You Want?

You are reading from the book  Just Quit” & Live

Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?

I need time off, to redefine myself, to focus on education in the field, to volunteer, and make room for a new opportunity that is more aligned to my interests. I am hoping to find a similar role in a much smaller, slower paced environment, so there is a better work life balance.  I am suffering from anxiety and taking medication to make it through the week now.  I want to get back to healthy.

Meditation/Reflection:

If we know what we want, it is already there waiting for us.

We have to know what we want or we will miss it if it shows up.

What do you want?

Set your next career goal.  Just clearly set what role you want to play and on what field. No matter what, eventually you are going to have to set sail for that new destination…it’s just a matter of time.
