I badly need this job to support my family’s necessities.
I am just 26 yrs. old but every time I go to work I feel that I am a very stressed 40-year old lady.
Every day I go into the office is like going to hell.

Are You Trying to Shoehorn Your Life Into Your Job?
I have been working hard with very few breaks since I was 15.
In the last several years, I have been trying to shoe-horn my life into my job rather than the other way around.
All the travel and long hours are making it impossible to focus on things that are more important to me.
My health is suffering.
Physically, I am unable to consistently make time to work out; I eat out for almost every meal; do not get enough sleep; have an inconsistent schedule; and I haven’t been to the doctor in years.
Mentally, I am affected by the sleep, schedule, and stress. I have difficulty focusing on my job and have lost most of my passion for it. I do not feel that I am learning or that I am in charge of my life inside or outside of work.
I am constantly near the boiling point and get angry very easily when I feel that my company has done anything to negatively impact my life again.
My work has become boring and repetitive, and it forces me to skip many activities that I enjoy, even when they are after normal business hours and all my friends can make it. The job is significantly hindering all my relationships. It is difficult to maintain existing friendships, let alone make new ones. I am not able to spend time with family – including my roommate – anywhere near as often as I’d like. The relationship with my girlfriend is also suffering from undue stress due to all the travel and time spent forced apart. On top of all this, I am paid less than employees at other companies with comparable skills and experience that work fewer hours with little to no travel.
~Worker Living in VIRGINIA
Today, if I am trying to “shoe-horn my life into my job” I will recognize how it is hurting my health, relationships and what matters to me.
I will just recognize it because until I recognize it and look at it for what it is, I won’t think I can change it…but I can and I must…I need a job that fits my life.

Learn to Trust Yourself and Stop Agreeing To Things That Insult Your Soul
I don’t feel valued.
I don’t trust my own team.
I don’t feel like I can maximize my value to the firm.
The stress is making me physically and mentally ill.
I’m not doing the work I love.
The company’s values are inconsistent with my own.
~Worker Living in COLORADO
Today, I will trust myself.
I will trust what I value.
I will trust that I will be able to do the work that I love.
I will pay close attention to my internal voice and cancel out any negative messages.
I have to work on getting out of any mental negative loop that I might be in.
I can trust myself.
I WILL trust MYSELF today.

Watching the Clock...How Many More Days Can You Continue To Do This?
Everything about my job makes me sad.
I dread getting up and going and count the minutes until I leave.
~ Worker Living in the UNITED KINGDOM
We have all counted the minutes and looked at the clock…watched the hours count down…wondered how much longer we could take it. We’ve waited for the magical moment we could bolt out of the door.
Now…how many more days can you do this?
How many more precious hours of your life can you continue to waste?

Be The Owner Of Your Life and Your Career...OWN IT
I hate it.
There is no opportunity for advancement.
I get no support from the owners.
I feel like I am constantly stressed over what needs to be done and no one else cares.
~ Worker Living in NORTH CAROLINA
Maybe you feel like no one really cares about what is going on where you work.
You can see what needs to be improved, but to no avail.
Even the owners or those who should offer support and care, don’t seem to care.
You’re in a good place to learn a lesson.
Lesson: YOU ARE NOT THE OWNER.
If you want the owner to care, then YOU need to BE the owner, start with your career…own that…

If You Don't Step Forward, You're Always in the Same Place
Knowing Where We Are Going – July 11
My co-workers single me out. I feel like I’m stuck and going nowhere in life with this job.
~ Worker Living in TEXAS
Knowing that we are stuck is knowledge.
We are stuck.
We need to get unstuck.
This job has run its course; there is no more “there” there.
We just need to move on.
We don’t have to stay stuck we can make a move as long as we have an idea of the direction we want to go.

The Word 'Listen' Contains The Same Letters as the Word 'Silent'
Step 3 – July 10
My current job and boss are making me feel so miserable and useless.
It is a small company (three people), and having just moved countries it’s important to have human contact and meet new people.
I can literally go eight hours having only spoken to just my boss. He puts me down, asks me inappropriate questions or makes comments which are unethical.
He’s totally under paying me, does not know how to manage people or work and thinks that everyone he works with or for is useless.
Most nights I come home and cry, which is obviously affecting my relationship with my partner and my unhappiness is stopping me from going out there and meeting new people and having fun.
~ Worker Living in AUSTRALIA
Today, I will find one person in my life that I trust that I can talk to about my situation.
I will share with them what is going on at work.
I just need to get it out; hear myself talk about it.
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
P.S.
If you can’t find someone to LISTEN to you…then be SILENT…(hint: that means you’ll have to learn how to quiet the noisy chattering mind). Meditation Works. There is a quiet place inside of you that will give you the peace, space and “knowingness” that you are looking for.
It’s unfortunate, but true, that your family and friends may not understand your situation and talking to them might make it worse when they tell you: “it can’t be that bad”; when you know it is THAT bad.
So, today find someone you trust to talk to or take 5 minutes to quiet your mind and be silent.

Quess What?...You're Not A Loser...You Are Part Of An Awakening...Welcome Aboard
You Are Not A Loser – July 9
I am MISERABLE.
I am suffering with depression.
I’m scattered brained, young, lost, damaged, lonely, no goals and a f*cking loser.
~ Worker Living in MICHIGAN
No, you are not a loser.
If you are young; and even if you aren’t young; if you have contemplated quitting (even if you don’t have another job lined up) you are WAY ahead of the majority of the people.
Most people stay stuck or move from job-to-job-to-job and don’t do anything in life that they want to do. So, you are far from a loser.
You are just waking up.
You are finally waking up to know that there is more to life than working a job that makes you miserable.
You are waking up to the real possibility that one morning you will wake up and WANT to get out of bed so you can make your contribution to the world.

Focus Your Energy on "Letting Come" not on "Letting Go"
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Experience Along the Journey – July 8
I work in sales for a great company with great people and had hoped to have a long association with them. For over a year, I was the entire marketing team because there was no-one else in the roles of marketing, sales & events and despite the burden of it all, I did a good job. I have worked long, hard hours, given 100% loyalty, continuously learning and have achieved well.
A couple of months ago, they employed a new marketing manager who is a nice person but wants me to be his secretary and has taken away every aspect of sales from me and replaced it with mind-numbing admin i.e. typing up hundreds of lists – nothing else, just that.
He micro-manages everything I do like I’m an imbecile and blatantly times me when I use the lady’s room. Basically he does everything in his power to make my working life as miserable as possible. I tried talking to him about this several times and even approached other higher up, no-one is interested.
Promises that were made to me by the CEO about my future career have been broken. I’ve tried to make the best of it and tried to ‘manage’ my career but the situation is getting worse. I am constantly stressed and unhappy and for weeks have been actively looking for another job.
~ Worker Living in the UNITED KINGDOM
Sometimes we are in work situations where we feel used.
We feel like we have performed well, and we did, but we didn’t get the recognition or the promotion.
We were overlooked. We were mistreated.
Count it as experience. Count it as a catalyst. Count it as information.
Experience, a catalyst and information about what you need to do next.
Just use it to propel you forward in the right direction for your journey.
P.S.
Once you have made the decision to “Just Quit” start focusing all of your energy on what is to come. Watch what happens…you’re in control and excited as you move towards “letting come”…

It’s a dead-end job and I’m not learning anything anymore. I’m getting fed up with the work and it feels like I’m getting depressed every day I go into work.
The Managers/Senior Managers are useless and don’t care about your career. To them it’s all about metrics and nothing else.

I try to spend the remaining time I have with my sons and partner.
It’s taking a toll on my health now.
I’m also at the point where I don’t enjoy my work anymore.

The Secret of Life is to Pay Attention
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Pay Attention – July 5
I want to start my business – the one that will make a real difference.
In fact, it will be helping other people quit *their* jobs by starting a business.
I’m a marketing expert, my jobs/clients have always been startups and people launching businesses without me even realizing – this is what I’m meant to do.
I just need to embrace it.
~ Worker Living in CANADA
Every single day of our lives if we are paying attention the universe is providing us with information to help lead us to our authentic selves.
Today…something is being said, something maybe put in front of you, a website you stumble upon, a song you hear, a bird, a text message, something you read
something
pay attention
the secret of life is to pay attention
that’s it
pay attention.

And You Thought You Had A List of Things You Hated About YOUR Job...Take A Walk In These Heavy Boots
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Making Our List – July 3
**Things I Hate About My Job**
1.) I hate how I have to cover everyone else’s time off when I can’t ever seem to get enough for myself.
2.) I hate sleeping all day and working all night.
3.) I hate the wannabe military atmosphere that permeates here.
4.) I’m sick of the facility—all stairs, being hot, being cold.
5.) I really hate the stupid heavy boots that I have to wear. My ankles are in serious pain every day.
6.) I hate most of my co-workers with their military wannabe attitudes and the supervisors who all look like they were the nerds in school and are taking out their past torture on everyone.
7.) I hate hearing about how great we have it here and how we are all lucky to even have a job—would you tell an abused woman that she is at least lucky to have a boyfriend?
8.) I hate how my vacation was accepted then denied a week before I was supposed to leave.
9.) I hate stairs.
10.) I hate the loud obnoxious alarm testing I have to do every night.
11.) I hate having to work 12 days straight without a day off, then get one, then work another 6 straight.
12.) I hate working 12 hour shifts whenever they tell me to.
13.) I hate my supervisor’s ridiculously serious attitude about the job—it really isn’t that serious and the way you let them treat you is undignified.
14.) I hate sitting in a quiet office with nothing to accomplish other than the occasional mouse click.
15.) I hate how condescending the management and employees are.
16.) I hate how the job has taken over my thoughts even outside of work.
17.) I am tired of the stomach aches and pains, the headaches, the back pain, the depression, the mood swings, all because of this job.
18.) I hate how there is a “click” of co-workers/supervisors that always get time off, and I don’t—on top of that they always somehow get rewards for good performance…
19.) I hate the shitty computer systems we are stuck with.
20.) I hate the following words: Sir (most hated word), Captain, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Egress, CSO, SOPs, Sierra, Alpha, Egg, Mat.
21.) I hate how we have to wear a one piece jumpsuit and how my underwear rides up my ass constantly all shift.
22.) I hate how when I leave in the morning, I have to be back the same friggin day.
23.) I hate third shift and what it has done to my complexion and weight.
~Worker Living in CONNECTICUT
Have you made YOUR “Just Quit” list to help you make the decision?
Make your list today, or review your list today.
P.S.
When you even consider the thought of Just Quitting your job without another one; do not EXPECT most people to understand. Not your parents, not your spouse, not your children, not even fellow workers who are also miserable in their jobs.
EXPECT your family and friends to think you are crazy and are making a big mistake to even consider quitting without another job (especially in this economy).
Consider that to be the normal reaction
…BUT…YOU know what you are going through in this job.
They really CAN’T know, because they are not having your experience
…AND…you are having this experience for A REASON.
Maybe the reason is to get you to move towards your life’s work (finally).
Just remember you are not alone….others are thinking like you are…
BE smart and work the “Just Quit” Steps so you can strategically plan your exit.
“Just Quit” is not a rash decision…it is carefully planned
(yes, you might be depressed right now, but once you take control of your career and realize that you really are not stuck, the dark clouds of depression start to fade.)

Take a Chance...Drop Every Fear and Doubt...Stop Holding Yourself Back
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Overcoming Fear – July 2
I am working in a career field that is not related to my degrees I have obtained. It was my first job out of college promising growth opportunities.
The field I want to work in has no growth so they have not had available positions in the 5-6 years I’ve been here.
I have gone back to school while working and need to take the leap to the career that makes me happy now that I’m done with my formal education. There is no job satisfaction where I work and even my supervisor doesn’t like the job. The plus is great benefits and a steady pay check.
Fear has been holding me back.
I tried quitting in January of 2013 and HR talked me out of it because I didn’t have another job lined up.
It has been difficult to find a job in the field I want to be in while working because I have not had the time to build my creative portfolio and I am drained of energy after work and the 1 hour to 1.5 hour commute home.
~Worker Living in FLORIDA
Fear will hold us back.
Fear is a real dream snatcher as is doubt.
The thing is….everyone knows what fear feels like…everyone knows what doubt feels like…they are both just feelings…don’t let them hold you back from pursing your dreams…just don’t pay that much attention to fear or doubt… get prepared and go for it.

The Only Real Valuable Thing Is Intuition ~Einstein...Listen to Your Intuition Today
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Listening to Our Intuition – July 1
I hate coming in every day.
The people I work with are frustrated with the policies and low pay and half the time everyone is sighing and complaining. I had to reduce the amount of taxes taken out of my paycheck just to survive, and almost got fired for my lateness.
I just don’t want to be there.
I get an ache in the pit of my stomach thinking about going back after a peaceful two-week vacation.
Helping customers and servicing others in retail is not a good fit for me.
I need to be able to have downtime by myself to recharge, and all this job does is drain my energy.
I am willing to take out money of my IRA in order to survive for a few months in order to find a new job, and hopefully transform my job into a career.
I need some peace, and my intuition tells me to quit.
I just landed a part-time job with some earning potential, and I could focus on that and also find a temp job during the day or land interviews for a new one.
The only thing I am worried about is insurance coverage.
~Worker Living in NORTH CAROLINA
We already know what to do if we listen to our intuition.
Go back and re-read today’s story. As she talks about her intuition she talks about the actions that she is and could take…then what happens?…her brain takes over…it tells her to fear…doubt her intuition…think about insurance coverage…. anything to stop her in her tracks.
Don’t let anything stop you on your path, on this journey…not even your own fears…listen to your intuition…
P.S.
What is intuition you might ask? Intuition is tapping into this all-knowing universal mind that is inside of all of us. It already knows what you should do and where you should go. Until you listen to and trust your intuition you will continue to struggle and wonder. Once you can tap into this universal mind the entire “game of life” makes sense because you are in alignment.

Happiness Is A Choice; Get the Stress Out of Your System Then Decide To Be Happy
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Shouting It Out – June 30
MY BOSS AND HIS BROTHER ARE MICROMANAGING A**HOLES THAT BELITTLE PUBLICLY HUMILIATE AND VERBALLY ABUSE THEIR EMPLOYEES.
~Worker Living in VIRGINIA
Yes, sometimes we need to shout out what is wrong.
What is not working.
What we are angry about.
What is unfair.
What we hate.
When was the last time you were able to find a place to shout about all of that?
Sometimes we just need to get it out…somehow we need to get it out of our systems. Until we do, all of that bent up frustration just keeps us stuck, miserable and mumbling under our breath.
Today, find a safe way to release the tension and stress.
P.S.
My sister Linda helped me edit this book. Her recommendation was to not include entries with profanity or to put in asterisks (**SHOLES). I understood her recommendation and even considered it; but I decided to allow the authenticity of emotion to come through. This is the reality of how people feel who are miserable in their jobs. They might not curse out loud; but they are screaming in their heads.
It is real.
If you are going through misery in your job today; you might have to get out all of the negativity swirling around in your head and inside of your body.
You should not be violent and you SHOULD practice control over YOUR emotions. It’s a sign of maturity…BUT..if you need to get it out…Get it out…
AFTER you get it out…
MOVE ON…
and realize that happiness is a choice…and so is staying stressed about your job, the people you work for and with…just move on…and DECIDE you are going to be happy.
REGARDLESS of the work situation you find yourself in today.

Endings Lead to Beginnings – June 28
I’m not happy.
It’s no longer satisfying or meaningful. I’m not feeling challenged. It’s discouraging and frustrating.
I feel stuck.
There are no more good days.
I wonder what difference I’m making to those I’m supposedly helping and also it’s not making any good of a difference in my life. I am no longer challenged or feel there is any growth from this job.

Are You Dealing With Bullies At Work? It Is A Prevalent Issue in Today's Workplace.
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
My job is monotonous. I do research for a financial firm and have very little to do every day, but the small amount of responsibility I have affects millions of dollars’ worth of stock. 90% of the time I’m bored out of my mind and the other 10% of the time I’m stressed out like no one would believe.
My boss does not deliver any insight or constructive criticism to his employees except for once a year during 20 minute personal evaluations.
I am also on a team and have been harassed for the past 3-4 years by two women. My teammates talk loudly within earshot of my office about how strange my personality is, how I don’t fit the corporate culture (wealthy with yachts and large families), how I’m too risky with my decisions at work, how my hair looks, etc. I’ve been repeatedly followed to the bathroom by a co-worker who told another teammate she “just wants to see what [I’ll] do.”
I’ve complained to human resources and have been told that I can file paperwork for harassment, but in all likelihood I would be fired instead of my co-workers for “rocking the boat.” I feel like my job has very little purpose and the only thing I accomplish by going into work is being the subject of harassment.
~Worker Living in CONNECTICUT
Today, I will deal with any bullies at work, even if that bully is my boss.
How I deal with it is up to me.
I might not confront them directly, but I will deal with it.
If they have been bullying me for years then obviously what I am doing isn’t working, so I need to do something different.
We aren’t kids anymore, but workplace emotional bullying hurts just as much as when we were kids in junior, middle and high school. But we aren’t kids. We can take care of ourselves. We can make adult decisions. We can deal with these workplace bullies.

Can You Look In The Mirror, Be Proud of Yourself & Do Your Job?
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I’m driving all over the state “trying” to see doctors whom I cannot see.
I’m tired of educational resources, that aren’t educational at all!
I’m bored.
We cannot call on hospitals, but that’s where we should be.
I keep getting told, “change is coming.”
I’m tired of having to deal with co-workers on the western side of the state who break compliance rules all the time and have asked me to do the same. Completely, undeniably, unethical!!
~Worker Living in IOWA
Some of us have been here; where doing our jobs are almost impossible.
What we are asked to do is just not working. Everybody knows it’s not working, but we keep right on “trying” to do it.
We skirt around the edges of ethics just to get it done.
It gets old day-after-day and we want a change, but change doesn’t seem to be coming fast enough.
Today, we need to ask ourselves: “Can I look in the mirror and be proud of myself AND do this job?”

KNOW You Are Smart; College Degree Or Not
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I’m 23 and I feel as though I’m stuck in a dead-end job that has an amazing bonus structure but isn’t in any field that I’m remotely interested in.
I have to have this job in order to pay down my overdraft but I intensely dislike the people I work with.
I constantly feel patronized by my trainers and I feel that there should be more to my post-university life than this.
~Worker Living in the UNITED KINGDOM
We were told that we needed a degree, maybe two or three.
We believed the system that told us that we needed a degree. So we got a degree or two or three.
We put letters behind our name and we felt proud and smart.
We are smart: but we are in debt and we feel stuck in dead-end jobs.
We are smart: but we are in jobs that aren’t related to those degrees.
We are smart: but we work with people that we don’t like.
We are smart.
We are smart enough to figure this out.
We are and will figure this out…degree or not…we will figure this out and will find our way…

It's A Brand New Day & Everything Will Be Fine
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
The volume of work is too high for one person therefore I do not have time to cross-train or learn other responsibilities.
I’m not learning anything new and I’m sick and tired of doing the same crappy load of work day after day.
I just can’t do it anymore.
~Worker Living in NEW JERSEY
It’s a new day.
It’s a brand new day.
Yesterday was yesterday and it is gone.
Today, just for today believe that things will change. You will make a change in your life.
Don’t worry about your job, or the work, or the work load – TODAY do something to move towards THAT change.
Everything will be fine.

There Are No Mistakes, Only Lessons and Messages
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I need a change because of health reasons. I’m feeling trapped and very unhappy and I just blew a chance at a job transfer.
~Worker Living in ILLINOIS
There are no mistakes.
You haven’t blown it.
If you didn’t take the transfer, didn’t do well on the interview, didn’t get the job offer, or the promotion, or whatever you DIDN’T get; it wasn’t for you.
There are no mistakes only lessons and messages. ~ Ridea Richardson

Are You Living Comfortably But Hardly Living At All?
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I am stagnate. My current job no longer aligns with the steps I need to take to fulfill my goals and pursue life and happiness, other than to pay my monthly bills. These bills are relatively small, as is my income. Most other jobs would fulfill this need.
I have a long commute and work full-time. I need for my work + commute to be less hours to free up time for educational, business, and self-improving pursuits; or to find a job with a time commitment that aligns with these goals. Preferably, both.
Alternatively, I may be able to structure a lifestyle where I educate myself and pursue my own business, without ‘working’ at all.
Now that I dislike my inconsistent commute, I may be fired any time anyway. My superiors are not competent, and I do not enjoy my repetitive job duties. I am not positively challenged in my job, and my job is a large percentage of my life, therefore I am living ‘comfortably’ but hardly living at all.
~Worker Living in CALIFORNIA
Something to Think About Today:
Are you “living comfortably, but hardly living at all”?
Is there a lifestyle you can envision where you don’t have to “work” at all?

Microsoft Had a Huge Vision...Why Shouldn't You?
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
My job is absolute misery. I’m working in a field I don’t want to be in, with colleagues I don’t want to associate with and with a condescending joke of a manager.
I want the freedom to pursue my interests with a focus on landing my dream career.
I want to work for it as much as I want it to work for me.
~Worker Living in the UNITED KINGDOM
What to Do Today:
Today, imagine being in your dream career, job, profession, or business endeavor.
Where are you?
What are you doing?
Who is around you?
You have to be able to see it before you can create it.
Once you can see it you can create it.
P.S.
What does it mean to have a vision? It needs to be VISUAL. For example: below is Microsoft’s early vision: In 1975, Gates and Allen form a partnership called Microsoft. Like most start-ups, Microsoft begins small, but has a huge vision—a computer on every desktop and in every home. During the next years, Microsoft begins to change the ways we work.
(Now think about it… Microsoft’s vision basically HAPPENED…we are now on to laptops, tablets and i-phones…but…before all of that there was Microsoft and desktop computers.)
You need a vision too…and it might as well be HUGH…why not?

The Shell Must Break Before The Bird Can Fly
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Something in me is going to break so badly I won’t be able to pull back up from it.
~Worker Living in AUSTRALIA
Something To Think About Today:
Some days we feel broken.
When we feel so broken, so very broken, it feels like we are not going to make it.
We WILL make it.
Broken is letting go of what is.
Broken is destroying what is.
Broken allows something new to be created.
A new job.
A new idea.
A new business.
A new passion.
A new outlook.
A new you.

TODAY Start Living Up To Your Potential
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I feel that my potential is being wasted and I am being relegated to a clerical job.
In short, I am not satisfied with the job content and on top of it I am not clear of my future path.
~Worker Living in the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Today’s Reflection…something to think about & do:
If today we find ourselves doing less than we know we are capable of; for whatever reason; we will think of the positive.
For every minute we are not asked to work up to our potential (while we are doing the mind-numbing clerical type tasks) we will THINK about our future path.
Work the “Just Quit”Steps during the down time.
If they only want 20% we will give them what they want and use the other 80% of our brainpower and capabilities for ourselves.
P.S.
There really aren’t any excuses…NO ONE can hold you back…EXCEPT…YOURSELF…

Get Out of Your Own Way...Stop Making Excuses
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I strongly believe in not doing something you don’t enjoy or are not interested in at all.
I want to start my own business and can’t because of my sh*tty job.
I just want freedom.
~Worker Living in the UNITED KINGDOM
Today’s Meditation:
Who is stopping us, but us?
We need to get out of our own way.
If you want to do something…then do it…what is stopping you?

BELIEVE...Money CAN Flow Your Way
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I’m over this job. I’ve been here for two years. It’s not in the field I want to end up in. I can budget for a while and live ok.
~Worker Living in AUSTRALIA
Today’s Meditation:
Today, Work Step 2 – Dealing with Finances.
Start your spreadsheet, review your spreadsheet, move some money from checking to savings, figure out how much money you have on credit cards, look at your 401K statement, figure out what you can live without…today work on Step 2…EVEN if you have a mountain of debt.
P.S.
Working on Step 2 is a crucial step in your “Just Quit” plan.
Most people STAY stuck or go from job-to-job-to job because they never buckle down and save or get access to six months of basic expenses. YOU CAN DO THIS. I did it and YOU CAN DO IT TOO.
One of the greatest lessons I learned from one of my mentors (he happened to be a wealthy self-made millionaire — so those type of folks you listen to because they did something that worked)…his advice: ALWAYS keep $100 in your wallet. He said you should do this because you will NEVER feel broke. I’ve realized over the years that it will attract like energy…money energy. It even worked for me as late as yesterday. When I went to the mailbox I opened an envelope…inside…an unexpected check.
If you want to get started on working Step 2 just start with that $100. Keep it in your wallet or purse. DO NOT SPEND IT, just keep it there.
What if you don’t have $100? Well, starting this weekend EVERYTIME you begin to spend even a dollar on something that is NOT a necessity, don’t do it. Find a hiding place in your wallet to put this “extra” money until you get to $100.
Focus on keeping $100 in your wallet… then watch as the magic starts to happen.
Also, here is a good book on how money is just energy.

Are You A Spectator or Participant In Your Life?
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I’m tired of doing the same thing year after year without change or growth. I’m afraid I’ll wake up one day and life as I know it is over without me being an active participant.
~Worker Living in D.C. (DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA)
Today’s Meditation:
Be Fully Alive.
You can have work to do that is not mundane and routine.
You CAN do work that matters, work that you can put your heart and soul into.
Today, allow the energy that is inside of you to come out. Uncork the bottle and allow all of that bottled up energy to flow through you.

Take Care Of Your Body Because "You" Live In Your Body
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I’m stressed out.
My body is breaking down.
I cannot remember things.
I’m not as happy as I used to be.
~Worker Living in CALIFORNIA
Today’s Meditation:
We live housed in human bodies.
The health of our bodies has to be a priority because “we” live in our bodies.
Today, I will do something good for my body. If I don’t know exactly what I need to do I will ask my body what it needs for me to do.
P.S.
Still don’t know what to do? EDUCATE yourself about what has happened with the food industry and what they have done by adding SUGAR, SUGAR, SUGAR to our food…remember…”YOU” live in your body.
We do have control over what we put in our mouths…we DO have control over THAT….& guess what??? Eating healthy helps us FEEL better and make BETTER decisions.
(And don’t worry that you have TRIED to diet for years…don’t think diet…just eat healthy natural foods….i.e. you are going to have to COOK for yourself and your family.)

Life is Too Short To Be Skating By In A Job That You Don't Like
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I have not been happy in my job for a long time but just did not have the money to quit. Every year at the end of the year I start to get that dreaded feeling. I start having anxiety attacks when our busy time comes, but I have somehow muddled through. I’ve always been afraid of the decision and not having the money.
My brother passed away recently and my way of thinking has changed. Life is just too short to be skating by in a job that I don’t like. I am burned out. I am tired of people yelling at me. I am tired of coming home completely exhausted and I want to go to sleep.
I am tired of being unhappy.
Now that the financial issue is no longer an issue, and I have the money to cover my bills, I feel I can now do this.
~Worker Living in OHIO
Today’s Meditation:
Life is too short to be skating by in a job that you don’t like.
If you stay in this job will you regret it at the end of your life?
It’s just a question, but it is a serious thought-provoking question. Answer it…Will you?

Feeling Good About What We Do
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
It makes me feel really depressed because I feel like I’m helping screw people out of money. I also do not like any one I work with and feel that I can do a lot better in life than working here. It’s not where I want to be and not a field I would want to advance in.
~Worker Living in ARIZONA
Today’s Meditation:
Sometimes we look up and realize that we are part of what’s wrong with the world.
We are the them.
We are doing things that we aren’t proud of.
We wonder and ask ourselves: “Why am I living like this? Why am I doing this? Aren’t I better than this?” Yes…you are.
We can feel good about what we do and our contributions to the family of the world.
We don’t have to do work that we feel harms others.

Back To Sunday’s
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I’ve reached the point where Sunday’s are basically a countdown to Monday mornings. I’m having anxiety and depressed about my job. I just can’t take it anymore.
~Worker Living in NORTH CAROLINA
Today’s Meditation:
Every single week we have to face Sunday’s.
Sunday’s shouldn’t seem like a day that is difficult to face; except for those working Monday – Friday in jobs they hate.
Sunday’s take on a special place. It is the only day standing between you and your sanity, anxiety, deep depression, reprieve time, a break from the madness….on and on…
Today, no matter what day it is say: “May I enjoy Sunday’s again.” When we can enjoy Sunday’s again we are in a good place. Again, say: “May I enjoy Sunday’s again.”
Today just ask for what you want… to enjoy Sunday’s again.

Is It The Boss and/or The Work?
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
Every day is a struggle. I cry and get anxiety thinking about coming in. I hate my boss and the work I do. It has all stress and no reward. I love working with people, but not in this way.
~Worker Living in MASSACHUSETTS
Today’s Meditation:
Sometimes it’s the boss.
Sometimes it’s the work itself.
If it’s the boss AND the work we need to do some real reflection. What is going on with me and the job? Is it working for my boss (that might change someday), or is it the work itself (I need a new profession or assignments), or is it both the Boss and the Job? Double-whammy.
I need to work my “Just Quit” Plan today. I need to do one of the Steps…I’ll pick one, just one.

Forward, Stuck or Backward - What Are Your Strengths?
You are reading from the book “Just Quit” & Live
Q: Why do you want to quit your job EVEN if you don’t have another job lined-up?
I hate my job. I don’t get to do what I thought I would be doing. It feels like the role is moving me backwards in my career.
~ Worker Living in the UNITED KINGDOM
Today’s Meditation:
We are either moving forward, feeling stuck, or moving backward.
Where are you on that spectrum today?
P.S.
Of course we all want to be moving forward in our careers, but sometimes we are STUCK or going BACKWARDS.
The first thing we need to do to get unstuck or going forward is to recognize where we are and admit it. That is easier said than done. Why? Because we then need to do something about it and that is where the rubber hits the road. That is where we have to make some decisions and many of us…
Have NO IDEA what we are good at, or what we want to do with the rest of our lives.
TODAY…just focus on your strengths.
Strengths are those skills that are innate. You can use your strengths in any industry, any job, any country, or anywhere.
What are you good at? What do you love doing?
If you feel you don’t know your strengths, then ask someone who knows you well what they see as your strengths.
One way or the other today your task is to write down three of your strengths.
